ROMANTIC PICKS Recommends TV! #VirginRiver #ShameOnSurvivor Plus Giveaway

It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve recommended a TV show, but I have to mention Virgin River on Netflix. For Romance Readers, I would highly recommend it. This is definetly for us romance lovers! I haven’t read Virgin River nor have I read anything by Robyn Carr, but I will now. I was reading the reviews of the book on Amazon. There was one that said the show isn’t like the book. So, I can’t say whether it does or not, but I can say it’s nice to watch. A good romance book makes you root for the HEA. I’m certainly hooked on the characters. I love Mel and Jack. Even more, I totally respect the plotline. A broken Mel is looking for a new beginning in a small town where everyone is in everyone’s business. The cabin she has been promised is a shack and the doctor she is supposed to work for doesn’t want her. The local bar owner is a retired Marine who has his own set of problems. Just the kinda setting we romance readers love and don’t get to see that often on TV. Sure we have the Hallmark Channel, but this story has a plot.

That is the good news. The bad— Shame on Survivor! I stopped watching it when Survivor warned Dan about his behavior and Kellie got voted out. Now I see that Survivor pulled him from the game because he didn’t stop. This is just wrong! They should have pulled him before when they first saw the harassment at the BEGINNING! There is no excuse—at all. We are suppose to give him the benefit of doubt, but it was on tape and I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a lot more. This season has been tainted. I feel bad for the other players especially Kellie and even Elizabeth and Missy now. I have my reasons…because they came to play a game and wanted to win. Yes, they made a mistake on using the sexual harassment, but they should have never been put in that position. In seasons past, they have seen others lie and mantipulate others, but the sexual harassment was real. It wasn’t a game. Survivor is responsible for that. I hope Janet wins…and I hated to read that Elaine got voted off. I liked her, too, but I feel Survivor has a responsiblity to all the other contestants. This season hasn’t been played on a even playing field. It’s a shame. Survivor needs to step up.

Now, I don’t want to end on a bad note. I do have a giveaway going. You have to enter for your chance to win!
