ROMANTIC PICKS Recommends TV Shows! #ShowsToWatch #Disney+

shows to watch

As I promised, this week I’m talking about the new Disney + streaming service. The main question I had was is it worth the money — first impression— yes. Please note that this is my opinion. I don’t get paid for any of my recommendations.

Granted, I only watched it yesterday. Looking through what it has to offer, I feel its just as good as any other service. The only negative comment I have is that I’m not so sure it has as much as others like Netflix and Amazon Prime. But the quality of what they offer is worth the stream, especially if you have a little one in your house (I have a four-year-old grandson) or a superheroes fan (which is any grown man).

I’ll start out first with The Mandalorian series. Disney didn’t drop the whole series like Netflix does. At the moment, there is only one episode. From this brief look at the series, I’m hooked. I’m not going to give anything away, but by the end of the episode, it had me. Reading up on the series, I realized that it was going to have that Western feel that the movies have. I’m not a huge Western fan, but I found I liked this setting. It reminded me of the first Star Wars movies, which I think are the best. I can still remember the feeling I got seeing the first Star Wars movie, A New Hope, with my sister when I was sixteen. It had everything— good verus evil, a enthralling storyline, and lovable characters. I don’t know if the series is all of that yet (it was just one episode), but it brought back good memories. The special effects were awesome, too. The other thing I liked about the show, it has its own storyline. I know that it draws off the movies. Yet, these characters seem to have their own identities. The one aspect of the show that did irritate me is that the Mandalorian didn’t take off his helmet, which I think is his thing. I wanted to see his face. I will keep you updated on my take as it goes along.

Now to the rest of the stream—perfect for children…and for us older mouseketeers…they opened the vault! You can watch movies I’ve forgotten about: The Resucers, The Sword and the Stone, Robinhood and The Aristocrats to name a few.  My favorite Disney movie is (also from my childhood) Peter Pan. I haven’t the foggiest idea why its my favorite, but I can remember listening to Peter Pan’s music on my record player, looking at the stars from my bedroom window, and dreaming of what could be.

The first movie my grandson watched was Toy Story 3. He loved it…or maybe it was the fact I was letting him watch a movie during the week. So, I’m going to go on Jordan’s recommendation on the Pixar movies. He gave them a thumbs up.

So, I didn’t touch on the Marvel movies. I don’t watch superhero movies, but I know a ton of people that do. There is also National Georgraphic…which is probably my favorite.

The only complaint I have about the movies is that I have already bought a lot of the newer ones (I bought Toy Story 4 just last month). That is probably was my own stupidity since I knew I was getting Disney+.

Overall, I give it a positive review.
